I’ve been drinking ceremonial cacao for almost two years now with our local Cacao Shaman, Nicole Gnutzman. Cacao is a superfood with energy-boosting properties without the jitters of coffee. More importantly it is a heart-opener that evokes loving, Divine Feminine energies when you drink it.
Nicole leads Cacao Medicine Journeys where she drums and calls in spirit guides from the four directions of the Native American Medicine Wheel. She also calls upon “Mama Cacao” whose presence is immediately felt once you begin to sip this magical elixir.
While you don’t have a hallucinogenic experience when drinking cacao, you can experience a deep, meditative state which facilitates a release of physical tension and boosts you into an open, heart-centered mood. As you deepen into your heart, deep emotional healing can take place, plus you begin to experience the world from a more loving place.
I like to drink cacao a few times a week when I have a spacious morning that will offer me time to meditate and reflect inwards. Be sure to drink it with intention and respect and allow it to bring you into a gentle euphoric state.
